What is a relationship with Christ, whom we cannot touch (aka, hug)? Why do we need to seek a "relationship" with Him, or anyone, for that matter? Why is there a need for any "relationship" with anyone? Why do we have to have a "relationship" to ask Christ for help in our life? I know His power to be able to do anything He wants to do for us, but what is that He wants to do for us? What kind of "relationship" is HE seeking from us in order for Him to help us? What kind of action is involved in any kind of "relationship"? I know who Christ and the Father are and how they are like, what they are like (altruistic). I know their powers. I know what they are capable to do and bound not to do. I understand the concept of the fullness of the Plan of Salvation (for the wicked and the good). But what does all that have to do with a "relationship" with Them? Am I missing something?

You two are amazing!! I learn so much when I listen. I also take so many notes. More than I can fit on the page you have in the book. Do you think maybe in newer Don't Miss This daily books have an envelope, so we can add our own personal notes. I don't want to staple them, since it ruins the pretty pages in the book. Just an idea. Looking forward to more learning!!

  4. Whitney Billings diyor ki:

How do I find the first image of Christ with all the different stories that make up His picture?
I love both of the pictures of Christ.
I loved listening to you guys. I now know not to do it driving around haha. I was listening on the podcast and I had FOMO when you would talk about an image and I couldn't see it. I'm a visual learner haha
Thank you for all you do and the experiences that you are sharing and taking the time to make uplifting messages for us!
4 or 5 years ago I was telling my husband that I missed learning about the scriptures in a seminary/institute setting. With a teacher and a book to follow along. Then Come Follow Me came out and I was excited. Well I'll be honest, I wasn't good at it. I have heard the phrase "you need to take responsibility for your faith" I felt that hard in my soul. Thank you for putting all of this together.

  5. Doreen Gertsch diyor ki:

There's no way, that I can see, to download it. I've only been able to "Save image as" and that makes the file sizes between 607KB and 837KB. That's a small file size. Is that the biggest we can get of this? Is there a way to truly download it? Or just "Save image as"? Because clicking on the word "download" underneath the picture I'm hoping to download does not initiate a download response. It only makes the image appear that I'm wanting to print but it does not have an option of downloading once the image is open. It'd be nice to be able to press download and the file actually downloads instead of going to an image of the file and not being able to download it or save it as the true file size. (I replied off of someone else's question too, not sure which is easier way for you to be able to view my comment/question and get an answer…I'm sure others have the same how to download the bigger file question.)

  7. Jan Leyba diyor ki:

I have to wonder, before the Come Follow Me program, how many of us disciples really thought about these questions?
I have always desired to read, study and connect the stories within all our books of scripture. I attended an EFY in Oklahoma shortly after moving there. The particular one I attended was on journaling, creating a story that will interest your posterity. This was fantastic! I feel this goes along with this message today. The idea is to find a situation in your life and turn it into a story and giving it a title, connecting your story with a similar scripture(s), a song/hymn and Conference talk.
I hope this is not too terribly long but I did keep it as short as possible, to give you an example:

We moved to Oklahoma in 2004, which meant we would fly back and forth to SLC when schedule permitted. I was preparing to go to Salt Lake, I had a lot of errands to do before I left for 4 days. I had not been feeling well, so it was a little bit of a struggle, it wasn’t bad, it was more like sinusitis, but I was not one to go to the doctor’s often. While doing my errands, my husband called and asked me to go to the doctor’s office and pick up a prescription for him. At first I was a little disgruntled because I was in such a hurry trying to get all my errands done before I was taking a flight to Salt Lake City Utah. I decided to change my attitude and help him out, simply because he would have done the same for me.
When I arrived I let the receptionist know why I was there, she asked me to have a seat, which I did. I waited for about five minutes when this thought came to me to see if the doctor since I was there, so I asked if they could squeeze me in. She checked with the doctor and he said yes but it will be a few minutes. As I was waiting, there were two women in the office talking about their family history, they seemed so perplexed as to not being able to find some family member connections. I felt the spirit telling me to offer to help, silently I said no. A minute or so later I felt the impression again, so I said to the women, not to include myself in your conversation, but did you know that there is a huge family history center in Salt Lake City Utah? That is a great place to find your family history. Their reply, yes we know about it, but really can’t afford to go there. I said to them, well they have satellites all over the world, “we know, we have bee to the one in our township, but the man seems more interested in sharing and talking about his history then to help us with ours.” I said: Oh dear, that is too bad, I am sorry!” The conversation stopped. A third prompting came to offer to help, in my mind I said to the Spirit “I did.” The nurse called me back and as I stood up to go back I said to the women, write down what information you have, I am going to Salt Lake, I will see what I can find. When I came out they all were waiting to give me the information. I am not kidding, she wrote information on both sides of 4 sheets of notepad about 4×8. I thought to myself, what have I done?
I called my mom and told her what just aspired, she was so excited and said I will call Beryl and see if she can help us. We met and without going into too much detail, we were searching when my mom walked in and said: “we have Doty’s in our family line.” My response, really. Monday, before my flight back to Oklahoma, we went to the S.L. Family History library. We was there about 10 minutes when a missionary offered to assist us, we all sat down and he started looking at one of the sons of this family I felt prompted to switch over to the other son, so we did. Amazing there was the answer right there it was like within minutes we found what they were struggling for for years. Other things they were looking for just came either to me or to my mom it was the most amazing miracle. Thinking that all was done I reached out to her and said you’re not going to believe this, she said we’re related aren’t we? I said yes we are I proceeded to tell her the relationship. I flew back home and thought everything was said and done but I still kept feeling like I needed to do something yeah I ignored it and the prompt and continued for nearly a year when I finally said enough is enough I am going to go and figure this out. I had work off and decided that morning I was going to go to Norman Oklahoma and see if I could figure out why it was still plugging my mind. I had no idea what I was looking for or doing so it was a little bit of a challenge. The woman there was busy in conversation with another woman, I did not want to interrupt their conversation so I just sat and stared at the screen trying to figure out what to look for. I decided to just pack up and go. Thankfully there was a shift change and a new sister came in she asked me did I find everything I was looking for? I said no I don’t know what I’m looking for I’m just prompted that this is not done and I told her the story from the beginning. She said let me help you let’s start with Temple ready. Within five minutes she found the issue the problem one of the sons Michael had somehow been overlooked and not sealed to his parents. Because they were a relationship I contacted my mom and siblings and went back to Salt Lake and had him sealed to his parents my brother who was recently married was the parents and my other brother was their son. What a celebration in heaven!
I called my story “Ancestors Calling” I included a picture of my grandmother, whose line it followed, the scriptures I chose: Matthew 16: 19 & 3 Nephi 25: 5-6; the song I chose was a primary song “The Hearts of the Children, the conference/article I chose: doing genealogy: Finding That Glorious, Elusive Condition Called Balance”. I also included a copy of the pedigree chart.

I am coming back to the church, and this podcast/videos help me so much understand what is going on in the scriptures. Thank you for doing this!

  9. The Sensational Mr. Science diyor ki:

something very interesting is that the many names of Christ is also a great detector of truth, especially in the scriptures. I was also talking about his names just a few weeks ago with some other members and about how it works. just replace Christ with his other names and you can see a bit more of what I talk about, especially the truth. more a word of wisdom than revelation, but still something I found interesting!
Hope you have a great day & Safe Travels!

  10. Angie Miske diyor ki:

I have a favor to ask- when you write the scriptures on the board, could you please put them up above and make them a bit bigger? Sometimes they get hidden behind Emily.

  11. Loriel Smith diyor ki:

Where did you get those frames? how did you get the word of the week to stick to it? I dry-mounted Christ's picture but I am interested in framing it like you have. What size frame is that?

  12. Sam Wilson diyor ki:

Dear Emily- (Suzan Wilson here, Sam’s wife). you came to Charleston, SC for a women’s conference several years ago and your theme was the names of Jesus. I took pages of notes and remember being emotional the whole hour. Been a fan ever since. Thank you for dedicating your life to the Lord and His children!

  13. LeAnn Lundberg diyor ki:

David, Was the Jesus picture you saw in Costco painted by Brent Borup? His painting of Jesus entitled “The Resurrection and the Life” hit me the way you described your reaction. I also had up to that point not found a picture of the Savior that had touched me that deeply. He often has his artwork in Costco during holidays so I thought it might be his work that you saw. I love it. ❤

  14. Karen Galli Noel diyor ki:

I love that you two are "real" with your life experiences, good and bad or difficult. We gain courage and insight from you and know that God will also be there for all of us. I have had a difficult year, but God has been by my side giving me strength and courage to fight the fight. Thank you for working so hard and getting me excited about the scriptures. I love "don't miss this."

  15. Charlott Johnson diyor ki:

I told my friend at work who is in another ward and never heard of Don't Miss This. I showed her my journal from last year, she got this years journal and were going to do this together.

I just realized that my front door of my apartment is metal. I hung up my word of the week poster on my front door (inside) with magnets. I feel so dumb that I never realized this before. 🤣 I was inspired by those little magnet stickers brought up last year.

  21. Robin Rosander diyor ki:

Happy 2023 to all. As much as I would love to travel to Jerusalem (I can’t afford it) I would probably touch the ground and cry, because Jesus walked there, touch the walls, and cry because he was there, in all I’d be doing a lot of crying. Wonderful lesson. I joined you after you completed the New Testament. I really enjoy your lessons, and love the new look.
Note: Last year you put things on Twitter, I don’t have a Twitter account and do not intend on getting one, if you have things for printing can you put them in your newsletter for us old folks or less electronically challenged? As it is I go to the library to print.

  22. LouAnne Schwendiman diyor ki:

I am an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. There is a picture hanging on the wall in our instruction room that has intrigued me. It is "The Woman at the Well" by Carl Bloch. One day I noticed the succulent plant just to the left of the woman. It resembles the American Sign Language symbol for "I Love You". As I thought about it, the thought came that the Savior is saying: "I am here because I love you and I want to offer you the living water that I have to give. You can have it if you come to love Me." How exciting it is to be part of this wonderful year of truly coming to love my Savior because I can come to know Him more deeply than ever before. Thank you for the thoughts and feelings your conversations plant in my heart.

  23. Deb Veater diyor ki:

I started listening to your messages the middle of last year. I loved the timeline. Where can I get the poster and the stickers you put on it?

  24. Rometta Ison diyor ki:

The way to remember the order of Matthew 7, 7 is the ASK verse :
    Ask and he shall receive
    Seek and you shall find
Knock and it will be opened to you
    First initial = ASK
Ow you will be a Le to keep it straight which line comes first!

  25. Lisa Thompson diyor ki:

I'm grateful for new changes even though some can be difficult to adjust to. Your new visual board is modern and most likely a blessing for you as the teachers in the way of ease and new options. However, I'd just like to express that the gold color of the framing is so bright/bold that it's distracting. I don't know about anyone else but for me it draws my eyes from you to the frame…it needs to be a softer color that blends more quietly. For me, the gold is drowning out you two…and that is where I want my focus to be…on you and the lesson. Just an opinion, but at least the previous chalk board was quietly/gently in the background and there when you needed it. I wonder if anyone else finds the gold color distracting? Actually the new brighter wall color adds to the effect. The room is brighter which is nice but it's interesting how it affects the eyes.
Thank you for all you bring to our lives! The lessons are amazing and appreciated!
